Bearproofing

Some bearproofing tips:
• Keep garbage indoors until just prior to pickup
• On garbage day, place trash in a bear-resistant can. Can should NOT be stored in a garage or shed. Instead, chain can to a tree or post.
• Keep your deck, yard and barbeque grill clear of all food sources that attract bears
• Electric fencing will discourage bears from entering your yard and must be used to protect companion animals living
outdoors.
• Suspend bird feeders at least 12 feet off the ground from a line strung between trees.
